About KosmetikOn

Building the Software the Industry Needed

Founded in 2006, KosmetikOn is the product of more than 20 years of hands-on experience in cosmetics R&D management — built by people who understood the industry's problems because they lived them.

Founder & CEO

Pere Adell Winkler

Ph.D. Chemical Sciences, Autonomous University of Barcelona. 20+ years in cosmetics R&D management.

Pere Adell Winkler's career in the cosmetics industry began at PUIG in 1998, where he spent years immersed in the complexities of cosmetic formulation, regulatory compliance, and product lifecycle management at an industrial scale. It was during this time that he first identified a fundamental gap: the software tools available to cosmetics R&D teams were either generic enterprise systems poorly adapted to the industry's specific regulatory and scientific requirements, or narrow-purpose tools that addressed one fragment of the workflow while ignoring the rest.

After leaving PUIG, he became the Coptis representative in Spain, working at the intersection of cosmetics R&D and software. This experience deepened his understanding of what the industry needed — and, equally, of the limitations of the existing approach. When strategic vision divergence with the Coptis board made it clear that the software he believed the industry required would not be built within that framework, he chose to build it himself.

In 2006, he founded KosmetikOn (legal entity: Kosmetikon 2006 SL) in Andorra with a precise mandate: to create the most vertically integrated, domain-specific software platform the cosmetics industry had ever seen — one that would eventually expand to serve fragrance and haute cuisine with the same depth. Every architectural decision, every dataset, and every workflow in the Labify® platform today carries the imprint of those 20+ years of direct industry experience.

CTO & kAI Lead Engineer

Pere Adell Parramon

EPFL Engineer. AI researcher. Author of published research in machine learning.

Pere Adell Parramon joined KosmetikOn in 2019 to found and lead the AI Research Team — kAI. He holds a BSc in Communication Systems (2017) and an MFE in Financial Engineering (2019) from EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne), one of Europe's leading technical universities. His research at the intersection of machine learning and quantitative analysis resulted in a published chapter — "Forecasting Beta Using Machine Learning and Equity Sentiment Variables" — in Machine Learning for Asset Management (Wiley, 2020).

Under his technical leadership, kAI has grown into the industry's most specialized AI layer for cosmetics, fragrance, and culinary science. The system is trained on the largest proprietary specialized datasets in the sector — including 100,000+ raw material profiles with structured data on INCI nomenclature, function, safety, regulatory status, recommended concentrations, and supplier provenance. These datasets are continuously maintained and updated, providing a living intelligence layer rather than a static training snapshot.

kAI's domain specificity is its defining characteristic. Unlike generic large language models applied to cosmetics, kAI can perform formulation-relevant operations — Margin of Safety (MOS) calculations, IFRA limit checks, allergen cross-referencing, regulatory change tracking — that require structured, current, and verified domain knowledge. This is the direct result of an engineering approach grounded in both rigorous AI research methodology and deep understanding of the industries the platform serves.

Independent by Design

KosmetikOn is 100% family-owned, fully bootstrapped, and debt-free — with no external investors, no venture capital, and no board pressure influencing the product roadmap. Every decision about what to build, when to ship, and how to prioritise is driven entirely by domain expertise and customer needs. This independence is not incidental — it is a deliberate structural choice that ensures the platform evolves in service of the industries it was built for, not in service of a financial exit timeline.

Trusted Across Industries and Continents

40+ companies across cosmetics, fragrance, manufacturing, and haute cuisine — from Europe and North America to North Africa and Australia.

KosmetikOn serves a diverse and growing base of clients across multiple industry segments and geographies. The platform is used daily by independent cosmetics labs, mid-size manufacturers, fragrance houses, and contract manufacturing organisations (CMOs). Geographic presence is primarily in Europe and North America (including Mexico), with clients in North Africa and Australia — and expanding globally.
